Beth (flutes, whistles, vocals) started her early music with her sister and at church, as well as singing in school choirs. At age 12, her mother bought her a used flute, and thus began her life-long affair with music. After studying classical flute and conducting at Marshall University, she moved to Columbus, Ohio and began freelancing and private instruction. But her Appalachian/Irish heritage eventually won out, and thus began her Celtic journey, fifteen years ago. Only recently joining 9cc, she brings along an extensive background in performing and arranging. Her influences are Bach, Genesis, Don Ellis, and Seamus Egan. Beth, when not working as a phone sex operator, practices matter/energy transformation, frequently bi-locating during rehearsals with no warning whatsoever. |
