St. Patrick's Day 2013
It's almost here! Get ready, gang!
Happy Rockin' Holidays!
Hey all you boys and girls out there in Toy Land, 9 Castle Close wants to wish you a warm and groovy holiday season! As you bake your holiday cookies and decorate your trees, remember the reason for the season and spread a little rock 'n roll joy. We highly recommend you enjoy a little more nog than egg!
We look forward to seeing you in the new year. Keep in touch with us via web site, Facebook, Twitter, or Santa Express. And since the world did not end on Friday, we look forward to having some fun gigs in 2013.
Peace on earth, and goodwill towards all.
Last Saturday Ever Party!
Well, according to the Mayan calendar and Mike's great uncle Bud, the world is ending on Friday, December 21st, 2012. So we're having the very last Saturday night party EVER on Dec 15! Forget those cheesy end of the world songs like 'It's the End of the World As We Know It' or 'Party Like It's 1999', we're going to party our asses off and play some kick ass Celtic rock.
So please join us at Byrne's Pub on Saturday December 15th, where the food is hot, the beer is cold, the people are cool, and you can warm your heart. Take your vitamins that day because there WILL be dancing.
Speaking of dancing, here's a shout out for great event happening on the very last night of humanity. Check out on Facebook The Last Party on Earth, a public event sponsored by Jacob Kaufman. It's a cool dance party being held on Friday, December 21.
If the world really is about the end, don't you want to have some fun? See you out there!
End of Summer Beach Party!
Dublin Irish Festival!
It's that wonderful time of year again, people! Time for the always fantastic Dublin Irish Festival! We're very excited to be a part of this great event again this year. And we've got some good stuff in store.
On Sunday, Aug. 5th, we'll be taking the Celtic Rock Stage at 1:30 PM, sandwiched right in between the great Dulahan and the always fantastic Black 47. We'll also have a special treat as the members of Knot Fibb'n will join us on the rock stage for rousing song that you don't want to miss!
This is truly a great festival that we're very lucky to have right here in our neck of the woods. Come on out and enjoy a wonderful weekend and we'll see you Sunday!
Come on out to Byrne's Pub this Saturday for a night full of music, drinks, wonder, merriment, drinks, dance, laughs, smiles, drinks, tears and that feeling of dreams achieved!
Wow! What a St. Paddy's weekend! We had an absolute blast! So much so that we forgot to take any pics and only ended up with one decent one, a shot of the wall to wall bodies in the Byrne's Pub tent:
Tremendous thanks to Pat Byrne and all the good folks at Byrne's Pub for taking great care of us and putting on a fantastic event! And a huge thanks to the Shamrock Club of Columbus for having us out as well, it was a ton of fun!
As most of you know, it was a bittersweet day as we said farewell to Ryan Gross, playing his last two gigs with us that day. He will be greatly missed.
Well, we're off to rest and heal up. We're back at Byrne's in April, hopefully all you crazy Columbus-ites will have recovered by then and will be ready to rock and welcome Tom Shriver to the group!
St. Patrick's Day 2012!

New E.P. Review
The always wonderful e-zine Celtic Folk Punk and More have given our E.P. a great review! They are a great source of finding new Celtic music and we highly recommend adding them to your favorites. Check out their site, you won't regret it!
"Yes, 9 Castle Close has no pipes but they sound better than many bagpipes rock bands. Excellent whistle player and fiddler fit perfectly with the great rhythm section and guitars. Everybody knows the song formula, to blend traditional tunes with rock instruments and new lyrics. It seems easy, but most of the bands fail. However, 9 Castle Close has succeeded with this 3 track EP."

Halfway to St. Paddy's Day Party
Sat, Sept 17th is halfway to St. Paddy's Day! And if that's not a cause for drinkin' and partying, then what is? We'll be leading the party in brand new digs, our first ever visit to O'Leary's Pub in Centerville, OH. We're very excited to be invited there and can't wait to get the party rolling. Make your plans now!
Happy Birthday Stuart!
Happy birthday to our fiddler extraordinaire (and purveyor of fine pumpkin wines and insanely hot peppers), Stuart Brand!
Happy Birthday Kevin!
Happy birthday to our fearless leader, Kevin Maloney!
We had a wonderful time at both the Dayton Celtic Fest and the mighty Dublin Irish Festival these past couple weeks! We had more fun than you can shake a stick at, thanks to everyone who braved the heat work volunteer at these fine festivals. We're extremely lucky to have two great events right here in our own back yard!
We were excited to see the big "jumbo-tron" outside the DIF Rock tents. It's always nice to see a close-up of Stuart's head on a 15x15 screen towering over the festivities.
We're extremely happy to announce that our debut self-titled E.P. will be available at this summer's festival shows and is now available to purchase online HERE! And beginning Aug. 10th, you will be able to pick it up at most major digital sites (iTunes, Rhapsody, etc).
Happy Birthday Michael!
Join us in wishing a big happy birthday to our favorite bass player and good time rock 'n roll buddy, Michael Thomas!
Festival season is almost upon us! We're taking part in two of our favorite festivals this year, the Dayton Celtic Festival and the Dublin Irish Festival! Look at the awesome artists they have lined up!
Schedules are still being worked out, but check back here soon for official times and dates of our performances. Until then, here's a little video of Kevin noodling on a new song.
June 4th, Byrne's Pub!
This Saturday, June 4th, we're rolling back into Byrne's Pub in Columbus, OH. This is our last pub show before the festival season takes off this summer, and we're gonna rock it out in style! So don't miss it. Grab your friends and come on out for the party we'll be talking about for weeks (after the hangovers subside...)
St. Patrick's Day 2011
So it's finally here!
And boy, do we have a busy day! If you listen carefully on Thursday, you'll hear green-tinted rock 'n roll in Dayton, Columbus and Beavercreek humming through the beer-scented air. That's right, 9CC is hitting the road for a marathon crazy day of rock'n the Saint Paddy's Pardy!
We kick things off at 10 am at the Dublin Pub in Dayton. What's better than kegs and eggs followed by some rock to jump start your day? Then, will be heating things up @ 4 pm in Columbus at Byrne's Pub for a blistering 3-hour set of music.
But wait, there's more!
Follow us out to Beavercreek to the Pub on the Greene, where we close the cacophonous day out, starting at 10:30 pm.
Remember to follow us on Twitter as we'll be live tweeting all day long. Now just don't show up during the last tune and ask for an encore; come jig-mosh (or is it mig? Or josh?) with us at least once, if not three times! We double-dog dare you!
Josephinium - Tonight!
Come on out for a great night of fun and music at the Josephinium Irish Fest! And say hi to these guys!

We take the stage at 8:30-ish, but make sure to arrive early and enjoy all the festivities!

2011 is Here!
2011 is here, it's time to get things rolling again. But let's take one last quick look at some fun stuff from 2010.
We still need a couple more weeks for the new year's hangovers to wear off and then we're welcoming 2011 at one of our favorite old haunts, Byrne's Pub in Columbus! Jan. 29th is the date, 9:00-ish is the time! Come on out and you'll get to enjoy one of Kevin's great stories!
